  • Morgans In Need: Available for Adoption

Forever Morgans is looking for an adoptive home for the half-Morgan colt, Sailor. He was born on April 15, 2013 to the registered Morgan mare Shipyard PT Vibrant Song, who is also available for adoption here on His daddy is said to be a hackney/paint cross.

Sailor is beginning to settle into the routine of his foster home. He leads fairly well and I will be working on getting him used to being tied for grooming. Both the trimmer and I were impressed by how he handled his first ever trimming, calm, curious and trying to please. Sailor will continue to learn his foal ABCs and seeing how smart he is, he should catch on in record time. He is a lovely playful and energetic young boy and a joy to have around!

For those unfamiliar with Forever Morgans, we are a breed rescue that helps Morgans in dire straights find new homes. Often, and as was the case with Sailor's dam - who was rescued in foal - the horses are run through an auction in PA, and bought by a broker who sends truckloads to Canada for processing. When a Morgan is identified on his lot, the group works to raise funds to pull the horse to safety, arrange for quarantine, a foster and finds forever homes for them. Because Forever Morgans is committed to each horse they rescue for his or her lifetime, an adoption contract is required for Sailor.

Sailor is currently located in Tennessee. To find out more about him, send and email to and put Sailor on the subject line.

Please also consider fostering a horse. Our rescue efforts rely on the generosity of our members and foster homes. The number of horses we rescue is directly related to the availability of foster homes. Information on our foster program can be found on our website,

A complete list of adoptable Morgans can be found there as well.
