Searching for Morgan Gelding: Under 18 yrs, 15.2-16 hands, 1100 lbs+. Show horse not necessary, but professionally trained, Western Pleasure and/or Western Trail, is important. Sweet, calm, easy keeper with good brain and gentlemen manners. Must be patient, kind, friendly and a good neighbor. Likes to be in company of other horses, goats, dogs. Trustworthy around a variety of people of all ages and abilities. Very sound, has no vices, no health issues, no special equipment. Must load and behave in trailer, clips, bathes, stands for farrier. Will be used in arena, Western classes, on trail, overnight camping trips, tied to picket line, bridges, water, parades. Confident and experienced older rider. Happy being on dry lot, but also good on pasture (limited time). Wonderful forever home with plenty of good vet care, farrier, nice barn, arena, pasture and lots of love mixed with a few treats. Open on price for the right guy, but $5,000 is a good start. Located in SouthWest Idaho, but willing to travel to surrounding states: Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Washington, Utah. Please email info and photos to: lauriekcampbell@aol.com. (posted 08/23/10)

Searching for a few Morgans for our camp for troubled teens: We need two or three, 10-15 year old, 15+ hand geldings, easy-keepers with a good brain. Must be a friendly herd mate with other equines and UTD on vacs and worming with no serious health issues. Will have to be patient with kids that are very inexperienced riders/groomer/huggers. Wonderful forever home with plenty of good vet care and vittles. Dead broke, but not dead, good with the farrier and no vices like cribbing. We are located in Winston-Salem, NC and $1,200 is probably max we can spend, although we are a non-profit, so owner can write the horse(s) off, which is nice. We also like a 30 day trial period so that all are happy, especially the horse. Should have a current Coggins before coming to our farm. E-mail information and photos, please. Fowler4115@aol.com. Looking to lease a horse for the 2010 show season: Equitated or equitation prospect, at least 15.1h, can be mare or gelding. Would be shown around Ohio, as well as Massachusetts at A-rated, regional, and national Morgan shows. If the owner is trying to sell, I would be willing to market the horse during the show season, with hopes to sell it after Grand National in October. Contact: Courtney Segulin, bigbaymares@yahoo.com. Looking for a Morgan mare: 4 to 10 yrs. old, 14.3-15h, light chestnut with matching chestnut mane and tail. Prefer a star or blaze and white stockings. Broke for pleasure riding or driving. Looking for a nice calm and sweet disposition - a true family horse. Willing to pay $3,500. We are located in NC. Contact Dave Koch, dkoch@americanhuman.com. (posted 02/18/10)

I am looking for a Morgan horse for mostly for trail riding and driving. If the horse were not trained to drive I do have a great trainer to work with them. My ideal Morgan horse would be
  • 3-6 years old
  • energetic with stamina on the trail
  • Any size above 14.2 would be suitable - my weight is about 190 lbs - but 15+ the ideal.
  • We have cut extensive trails on our farm, so a pure show horse may not be the ideal fit.
  • A gelding or mare would do, although we love our three mares now.
  • Any horse that was proven at driving would be worth more as we have lots of paths suitable for our Meadowbrook cart.
  • Spirited and energetic is a plus, but I don't have the experience to handle an unbroke or really
rebellious horse. Because we have 3 children around the barn, any animal that tended towards unpredictability (kick, biting ect) on the ground would be a definite NO.
  • $2500 to $5500 would be the range I would consider.
  • Because we are not professionals and this is a passionate hobby only, known health problems or frailties would also be a definite NO.

We would gladly open our farm for inspection prior to a sale for concerned owners. We have someone on site who feeds 2x daily and we are on our farm every weekend. We have a great farrier and regular vet visits, worming and vaccines. We have acres of good pasture, a safe barn and a gentle loving environment. Our barn includes 4 other horses belonging to other family members.

If you have a horse that may fit the above bill, please contact John Dean at john@thedeanagency.com,
office 252 441 9997, Cell 252 207 4947. (posted 12/30/09)

Driving Horse Needed: I am looking for a Morgan to work in a driving program at a therapeutic riding center in Missouri. Needs a minimum of two years driving experience. Needs to be safe, sound and able to handle a lot of activity around them. Been there, done that attitude. Prefer a 15 to 15.2 hand, mare or gelding with varied driving experience (different carts/carriages and different terrain). A former combined driving competitor a plus. Please email at awillard@thstl.org. (posted 12/11/09)
Beginner horse needed! Rodman Stables, located in Ohio, needs a beginner Morgan lesson horse for the lesson program. Important qualities include a horse that is between 14.2-15.2hh, safe, patient, and most importantly, can teach beginner CANTER lessons. A smooth canter with soft, calm transitions and past show experience is a must. We are a small riding/training stable specializing in Morgans, and we are trying to promote the breed by filling the lesson program with Morgans for people to learn on. Our main focus is Saddle Seat riding, and our instructor is a William Woods University graduate. Our barn is very clean and well-managed, and the care of our horses is second to none. Our price range is flexible. We would like something within Ohio if possible, but all are welcome to contact us!
Please contact us if you feel that your horse fits this description! Thank you. Contact yvonne@rodmanstables.com. (posted 09/26/09)

Safe, sound and reliable gelding for trail riding: I am an older gal looking for a very safe, sound and reliable gelding for trail riding. I ride alone quite a bit so i need a horse who enjoys going out alone, no buck, no spook and not barn sour. Also must have manners in company. I ride slowly now, walk, trot and an occasional canter due to injuries and am looking for my forever companion. I do ride 4 to 5 times a week, so this gelding will be used and loved. Size about 14.3 to 15.1 and age from 8 on up. Color is unimportant to me. Please e-mail me at jsglov@bellsouth.net (posted 05/30/09)
