|Forever Morgans Rescue is searching for an adoptive home for Larue's On Time.
Larue's On Time is a 'Special Needs' horse, which means that his adoption fee will be waived on the condition that the contract between the adopter and Forever Morgans is amended to include specific agreements about future treatment and training.
When Larue arrived in foster care, he was very unconditioned and also had an unusual looking left shoulder/front leg. His left foreleg was weak and it caused an obvious irregularity in his gait, which fortunately does not appear to be painful. Sunshine and exercise have made him a stronger and happier horse. Larue is smart, likes attention and tries to please you. He learns quickly. He leads well, ties, cross ties, and is excellent for grooming and bathing. He also loads and hauls well and knows how to lunge.
Larue's shoulder was evaluated by a vet and it appears that the abnormality is a result of a grain-based diet and a calcium-phosphorous imbalance. The abnormality in his shoulder affects the strength of the bone as well as the range of motion and flight path of his left front leg. The rhythm of his gait is irregular at the walk, but he looks fine at the trot and canter. The vet feels that he is not sound for riding due to the condition of his shoulder.
That being said, Larue is a beautiful, intelligent young horse. He loves to do groundwork and most likely could easily be taught do some tricks, too. He has a lot to offer in terms of companionship and friendship. YOU could be the lucky person to benefit from this special stress reliever - he would always put a smile on your face!
Forever Morgans is a breed rescue made up of volunteers who help Morgans in dire straits find new homes. We are a virtual barn with no facility. Our rescued horses are in foster care all over the country. Forever Morgans works with other rescues, brokers, and individuals to identify horses in need or at risk, and then helps those horses find forever homes. We are committed to each horse we rescue for his or her lifetime and, for that reason, an adoption contract is required when adopting a horse from Forever Morgans.
We also ask that you consider fostering a horse. Our rescue efforts rely on the generosity of our members and foster homes. The number of horses we rescue is directly related to the availability of foster homes. Information on our foster program can be found on our website, and a list of adoptable Morgans can be found there as well.
Forever Morgans relies exclusively on private donations and fundraising to fulfill our mission. We are a 501c3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. We invite you to join us on our Facebook page or learn more about us from our website.
