| Lakota is a personable gelding who's now working well under saddle with 60 days completed, and another 30 days of training still to come. He has been out on trails alone and with a buddy. He does best with a buddy at this point. He gets his confidence from his rider and thus needs an experienced rider.
This older gentleman is an ex-buggy horse, and is working well and maintaining his good health with no additional supplements at the trainers. He ties, clips, bathes, loads, is good for the farrier, and tacks up well, and he'll stand still to be mounted. He was shown in halter all last summer at local shows, and was reserve champion. So, he's had lots of exposure with loud speakers, music, and even horses running loose. He can be turned out with mares, geldings or in a mixed herd. He also stalls well. No vices! Full disclosure—Lakota can be hard to catch! Treats seem to help. He needs to trust his rider, otherwise a lot of confusing signals makes him anxious. Thus, he is not a husband or guest horse. Not recommended for a school horse. Not a horse for flipping. He needs to have his own person, and/or set of persons that he can trust, and then he'd be a nice trail horse or local show horse.
