|Northdreams Freedom (“Rosie”) was rehomed in December, 2019, and she’s a total doll. She is about the sweetest horse you will ever meet, and her short stocky structure just adds to her adorableness.
Rosie was born into an Amish community and used as a broodmare and carriage horse. Her next owner aspired to use her in carriage competition but quickly found out that Rosie's heart was not in it. She would repeatedly bolt with the carriage.
The owner rehomed her to a place where she wouldn't need to pull anything and could just be ridden. From her driving work, her front legs have formed inwards, making her pigeon-toed, but she has adapted well and doesn't show any problems. The right farrier will be able to keep the correct trim because her hooves don't wear evenly.
It was with her new family that Rosie found her companion Phantom, and she has been ridden for pleasure mostly on the trails. She’s solid under saddle and it isn't in her nature to spook. Although she’s not a huge fan of speed, she’ll increase her pace when asked. She is cooperative with the vet and farrier.
Loading into the trailer is a bit of a problem with Rosie, but with coaxing she does eventually load. She likes her companion Phantom and gets very vocal when separated from him. It would be ideal for the two to find a home together.
Forever Morgans is a breed rescue made up of volunteers who help Morgans in dire straits find new homes. We are a virtual barn with no facility. Our rescued horses are in foster care all over the country. Forever Morgans works with other rescues, brokers, and individuals to identify horses in need or at risk, and then helps those horses find forever homes. We are committed to each horse we rescue for his or her lifetime and, for that reason, an adoption contract is required when adopting a horse from Forever Morgans.
We also ask that you consider fostering a horse. Our rescue efforts rely on the generosity of our members and foster homes. The number of horses we rescue is directly related to the availability of foster homes. Information on our foster program can be found on our website, and a list of adoptable Morgans can be found there as well.
Forever Morgans relies exclusively on private donations and fundraising to fulfill our mission. We are a 501c3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible. We invite you to join us on our Facebook page or learn more about us from our website.
