| After much consideration, I’ve decided to part with Xander—a wonderful, classically bred Morgan gelding with a strong foundation of ground work to start him on the road to success.
He is green broke to ride and drive, working walk/trot under saddle and is a bit pokey. He will pull a drag, ground drives, long lines and lunges. While he has been hitched, he has NOT enjoyed being a driving horse. Xander has a great foundation and could easily do any riding discipline asked of him, and he absolutely LOVES having a job to do. He’s a very sporty and fun guy who does well with other horses, mares and geldings alike (he's in the middle of the pecking order). He can be sensitive, but is also curious and willing to try new things, which has made training him both fun and a bit of a breeze. He has the personality of a golden retriever puppy and will be the first one at the gate when you go to the barn. He’s also a VERY easy keeper. Xander is up to date on vaccines, dental, farrier, Coggins, and is PSSM1 negative. This gelding has been barefoot his whole life, and he will also stand for the vet and farrier. He loads well and has been off property several times, including to show at the New York Morgan Regional Show. He was shown in sport horse in-hand in 2021 and 2022, and was first and third respectively. He would make a wonderful partner in any discipline when finished. I think he would do best in an experienced home or a home with a training program to keep him working and learning. |
